Meet the Manager
Rachael Whitelaw had fallen in love with Vanuatu and moved from Melbourne Australia in 2010 after a successful career in psychology and the musical theatre industries. Her intelligence, youthful enthusiasm, high level communication skills, graceful style and love of life were a perfect fit for Tamanu. So in early 2011, with a cache of experience in hospitality, customer service, event management, stage performance and human psychology, Rachael took over the role of Resort Manager with aplomb.
Rachael is the 'go-to' person for all Tamanu matters. Tours, transfers, food and beverage service, cottage housekeeping, security patrols, property maintenance, all guest services and requests and the list goes on. Rachael handles them all in her stride with genuine care for others and the business.
She is the 'hostess with the mostess' and can be seen most days personally meeting and greeting guests, gliding around the restaurant ensuring diners are delighted with their meals, arranging tours for guests, having meetings with brides planning their special day, or organising details with conference organisers; no matter how busy she is, Rachael adds her personal touch with the utmost professionalism. She is loved by guests, staff and peers alike.
Standing 176cm tall, looking like an elegant glamazon, Rachael epitomizes the Tamanu vision and with unusual electric blue eyes she perfectly symbolises the magic of Tamanu….dazzling, authentic and enchanting.
